REVIEW : Dash and Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan

Synopsis

“I’ve left some clues for you.
If you want them, turn the page.
If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”

So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the bestselling authors of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?

Review

Well. I seriously don't know what to think about this book. It was okay; appropriate as my english teacher would say; but definitely not one of the best books I ever read.
It has an interesting plot: two teenagers getting to know each other through a journal? Sounds good. Plus it is a christmasy - new yearly setting.
And well, as I said it is good but as always there are things I didn't really enjoy..
One of those would be that I have a hate-love relationship with Lily. In one moment she is like the most likable person but in the next she is a dick. And that annoied me.
Another problem I had was I couldn't get into the book so I would absorb it like I did for example with Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas. Maybe  it could be because if the length; 250 pages isn't that much...
And then the romance. I don't think it was horrible but it was not the best. At some points it was cute, maybe, but in most parts of the book it was getting on my nerves. Don't know why but that's it.

Of course there were things I really enjoyed.
One is Dash. I like this guy. He is kind of nerdy, loves to read and has a really big vocabulary.
And then I liked two scenes nearly at the end where Lily and Dash are together.
Oh! And I loved Lily's aunt :D

To sum up, I would say it is a great quick-read around christmas time and new year.

TALK / Reading Slump & Christmas

Hey guys!

First of all I am sorry I haven't posted even though I promised to do so...

But to be honest? I was in a big reading slump. Not proud but what can I do?...
Okay. Maybe one cause of that is I am obsessing with The Vampire Diaries lately and that I watched 4 seasons in 4 weeks o: Well.. Yeah. But it is sooooo good *o*
And that is mostly because I only read two and a half books in November and only one in December so far..
But now I have christmas break I can read more! I seriously read the most on breaks and in holidays because while school time I have so many other things to do as learning than reading. Well that sucks but I want good A levels in a few years so school is a priority and on my list number one; then reading and blogging. It hurts but it is acceptable.
In the last two weeks of school I finished all my exams for this semester so until end of January I won't have any exams left!
Are you finished with exams as well?

And my birthday had been! Well on November 26 but anyway o.รถ I finally turned 15 ❤️
I even got some books for my birthday, from my mom and my friends.
Do you want a book haul? I don't know if I should do one...

And now about christmas c:
What did you get?
Well... I got an iPhone 5S which I bought half of the price myself because here in Germany they are very very expensive -.-
And I got a book! Two if I am exact but one of them I got from a friend. ☺️

So well. I hope 2015 will be a better blogging year than 2014 was! I won't set me a reading goal because it is kind of annoying.
Will you set yourself a reading goal?

Merry Christmas and have a nice start in 2015!:-*

REVIEW : These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner

Synopsis

It's a night like any other on board the Icarus. Then, catastrophe strikes: the massive luxury spaceliner is yanked out of hyperspace and plummets into the nearest planet. Lilac LaRoux and Tarver Merendsen survive. And they seem to be alone.

Lilac is the daughter of the richest man in the universe. Tarver comes from nothing, a young war hero who learned long ago that girls like Lilac are more trouble than they’re worth. But with only each other to rely on, Lilac and Tarver must work together, making a tortuous journey across the eerie, deserted terrain to seek help.

Then, against all odds, Lilac and Tarver find a strange blessing in the tragedy that has thrown them into each other’s arms. Without the hope of a future together in their own world, they begin to wonder—would they be better off staying here forever?

Everything changes when they uncover the truth behind the chilling whispers that haunt their every step. Lilac and Tarver may find a way off this planet. But they won’t be the same people who landed on it.

Review

Survival, romance and action. These are three words which explain this book the best.
And I loved it!

Tarver's and Lilac's developing, and not just the one of their relationship, was amazing.
Their first meeting till the end of the book was just hocking and I couldn't put the book down.
I loved the way Lilac got tougher through the book and how Tarver helped her with it.

And what I liked most is that the romance wasn't there like from the beginning. Well it kind of was, then got stuck away and then was there again but I think you get what I mean (:
It was as well a book with a dual point of view and I really liked it. You know, in some books it is annoying or cheesy but in this one it wasn't.
And this planet they crashed on was a little bit scary but amazing how farther the storyline got.

I recommend this book to everyone who likes an action packed book with sci-fi elements and a romance (:

REVIEW : Trial by Fire by Josephine Angelini

Synopsis

This world is trying to kill Lily Proctor. Her life-threatening allergies keep her from enjoying experiences that others in her hometown of Salem take for granted, which is why she is determined to enjoy her first high school party with her best friend and longtime crush, Tristan. But after a humiliating incident in front of half her graduating class, Lily wishes she could just disappear.

Suddenly, Lily is in a different Salem—one overrun with horrifying creatures and ruled by powerful women called Crucibles. Strongest and cruelest of them all is Lillian . . . Lily's other self in this alternate universe.

What makes Lily weak at home is what makes her extraordinary in New Salem. In this confusing world, Lily is torn between responsibilities she can't hope to shoulder alone and a love she never expected.

Review

Amazing!

This is one word that describes this book.

I'm totally into fanatsy and witchcraft and this book has both elements.
Fristly the plot : A to the death sick girl get teleproted to another world where she's superpowerful and the witch of all witches? Plus some super cute dudes and a rebel movement? Come on! That sounds like a fenomenal story!
And it was!

The story was well develped, not to fast and not to slow and the world building was awesome with all the dangers and problems of each faction and how you get to know through the book how everything is conntected and why everyone acts like he/she does.
The characters are all differnet but adorble (let us take the evil ones aside) and how the witchcraft works is fascinating.

One plus for me is as well the way the author tells the story of how Lily gets involved with everything. One moment she's in her world the other she isn't and all the struggle she goes through on the way to figure everything out. As well the developing friendships with the new/old people of this new world and how she teaches those what things in this world is in hers.

Maybe at some, maybe one or two, points there wasn't everything clearly explained but I think Josephine Angelini did this on purpose because there will be two sequels to this!
And I'm already tempted to read them and how things will be in Trial of Tears because at the end was kind of a cliffhanger and I'm so excited to know what happens next!
The only big problem we have is that we have to wait until September 2015... -.-

But I'll hold everything together :D

DISCUSSION : NaNoWriMo

So.. Everywhere around Booktube and as well in the blogging world it is a topic now : NaNoWriMo.
November is as always the 'National Novel Writing Month' (nanowrimo.org) and this year I thought about participating but didn't at the end.
Probabaly most of you can't understand why I didn't join it because you would win a novel if you win but I have my reasons.

1. I am a student! I have school from Monday to Friday from 8am to 2pm, on Wednesdays even until 4pm. I need to do my homework and learn for tests. So I can't just sit a day in front of my laptop and write all the time. I think every blogger or NaNoWriMo participant who is a student knows school always is in the first place.

2. Hobbys. Yeahh.. I have a couple of hobbies I have on differnet days in the week. e.g. on Tuesdays I am tutoring a little girl and have an art class and on Saturdays I play tennis. So my week is full of stuff and I want to hang out with friends too. And I am a blogger (a hobby too) plus a reader!

3. Birthday! My birthday is November 26, so I need to plan and organise things.

And lastly

4. My computer is the last piece of ****..

Do you participate or not in NaNoWriMo this year?
And why?

REVIEW : Goddess by Josephine Angelini

Synopsis

After accidentally unleashing the gods from their captivity on Olympus, Helen must find a way to re-imprison them without starting a devastating war. But the gods are angry, and their thirst for blood already has a body count.

To make matters worse, the Oracle reveals that a diabolical Tyrant is lurking among them, which drives a wedge between the once-solid group of friends. As the gods use the Scions against one another, Lucas’s life hangs in the balance. Still unsure whether she loves him or Orion, Helen is forced to make a terrifying decision, for war is coming to her shores.

In Josephine Angelini’s compelling conclusion to the masterfully woven Starcrossed trilogy, a goddess must rise above it all to change a destiny that’s been written in the stars. With worlds built just as fast as they crumble, love and war collide in an all-out battle that will leave no question unanswered and no heart untouched.

Review

As I said in my reviews of the first and second book I love this trilogy!

I am totally into the Greek Mythology stuff and this is one of the best series I read in this genre so far.
And Goddess was an epic conclusion to it.

The battle was actionpacked and hooking, and Helen finally chose between Lucas and Orion.
The plot twists in this book I never thought would be there and Hades is in this trilogy the good guy which I like (:

And because it's the conclusion I won't write more than this but I'm just saying that you should definitely check this awesome series by Josephine Angelini out!

TAG : Creatures of the Night

I have thought about doing a Halloween themed post but couldn't think of one and then Anna @ Enchanted by YA tagged me to do the Creatures of the Night tag, originally created by Katytastic over on YouTube (:
Thank you again Anna! ♥
And now I will start :D

Vampire
To be honest I do not really read that many books with vampires in them because I don't know.. Probably they just do not hook me? But an amazing book/series with vampires, not as main creatures, is the Shadow Falls series by C. C. Hunter. It is about a camp where kids go to who aren't completly human but vampires, werewolves, faeries, shapeshifters etc.

Werewolf
I do not read books with werewolves that often either and so I go with City of Bones (or the complete Mortal Instruments series) by Cassandra Clare. In this series I really do like the werewolves and I  think they are fun.

Zombie
I haven't read one single book with zombies in it! *shame* But I watched the movie to Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion and enjoyed it. So that's my choice (:

Ghost
For that I pick Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas (review here). There is a ghost in it but I won't say who it is because that would be a too big spoiler.!

Witch/Warlock/Spellcaster
I can't just go with one for that! So I first choose Trial by Fire by Josephine Angelini. It is an amazing book surounding witchcraft and it is beautifuly written! And the second is Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins (review here). It has witchcraft and witches in it but not mainly. Nevertheless it is an awesome book!

Fairy/Fae
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas (review here)! Can't think of any other book with such great faes! Nothing else -> Spoiler!

Demon
My only books with demons in it are The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments, both by Cassandra Clare. Just saying :D

Angel
I can only think of Ithuriel and Raziel in City of Glass by Cassandra Clare.. And sorry that I have Cassie's books as so many answers..

Alien
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout (review here)! Great, amazing, fenomenal book series with aliens *-*

Superpowered Human
Many. But one book I really love in this kind of genre is Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini (review here). Okay. Maybe they are demigods but they have superpowers like hell and look like humans so I think the answers counts :D

That was it! And now I tag some people (:

REVIEW : Dreamless by Josephine Angelini

Synopsis

Can true love be forgotten?

As the only scion who can descend into the Underworld, Helen Hamilton has been given a nearly impossible task. By night she wanders through Hades, trying to stop the endless cycle of revenge that has cursed her family. By day she struggles to overcome the fatigue that is rapidly eroding her sanity. Without Lucas by her side, Helen is not sure she has the strength to go on.

Just as Helen is pushed to her breaking point, a mysterious new Scion comes to her rescue. Funny and brave, Orion shields her from the dangers of the Underworld. But time is running out. A ruthless foe plots against them, and the Furies' cry for blood is growing louder.

As the ancient Greek world collides with the mortal one, Helen's sheltered life on Nantucket descends into chaos. But the hardest task of all will be forgetting Lucas Delos.

Review

I loved this book way more than when I read it back earlier this year.

The new character Orion for once is so adorable even though I amTteam Lucas :D
But I think in this book and in the whole trilogy it isn't that kind of love triangle like in other books but I would say it's like the one of The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare because Helen loves both, the same as Tessa in TID.

Okay. The Hades really freaked me out at some point but yeah :D

Anyway. At some point in this book I was so confused like Helen was because of Lucas actions but afterwards the only thing I thought was that it must have been really hard for him to do it.

Orion was Helen such a support in the Underworld which is why I like him that much.
Jason annoyed me a bit with the whole 'Helen-you-are-a-Scion-but-Claire-not' thing but well... I can understand him aswell..

It was a great sequel to Starcrossed !

REVIEW : Shadows (Lux 0.5) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Synopsis

The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. As a Luxen, an alien life form on Earth, human girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane.

Dangerous. Tempting. Undeniable.

Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, she can’t stay away from him. Still, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in.

Captivated. Lured. Loved.

Dawson is keeping a secret that will change her existence...and put her life in jeopardy. But even he can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or from a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself.

Review

I think it was a great idea to write a prequel novel for this series in Dawson's and Beth's (and well sometimes Daemon's) POV to kind of understand Daemon's actions in manly Obsidian more than we already know of.

And you aswell just see Dawson's and Beth's feeling for each other more clearly because it focused on them and not as in the series on Katy and Daemon.

I personally read Shadows after I finished the Lux series because of the contexts and I would say it was a good decision that way and I'd recommend others to do it the same order.

REVIEW : Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini

Synopsis

How do you defy destiny?

Helen Hamilton has spent her entire sixteen years trying to hide how different she is—no easy task on an island as small and sheltered as Nantucket. And it's getting harder. Nightmares of a desperate desert journey have Helen waking parched, only to find her sheets damaged by dirt and dust. At school she's haunted by hallucinations of three women weeping tears of blood . . . and when Helen first crosses paths with Lucas Delos, she has no way of knowing they're destined to play the leading roles in a tragedy the Fates insist on repeating throughout history.

As Helen unlocks the secrets of her ancestry, she realizes that some myths are more than just legend. But even demigod powers might not be enough to defy the forces that are both drawing her and Lucas together—and trying to tear them apart.

Review

This was a re-read for me because I read this book back at the beginning of the year for the first time and to be honest this was then my first greek mythology like book.

And I loved it!
It has another way of "teaching" you the myths of the Greek Gods than in Percy Jackson series, which my friends and I manly read it BECAUSE we like the Starcrossed trilogy that much.
The characters are great and the developement of each's charcater's characteristics (holy gods what a sentence).
The romance is cute and it has a highschool setting aswell, what I really like in thist book, manly because of Hergie :D

Even though I didn't love Helen at the beginning of the book since she was a little mehh in my opinion, she grew more and more and I loved here more and more thoughout the discovery of her demigod beeing.
Helens freinds from school, Claire and Matt, are fun and Hector and the twins are just adorable.

I recommend this book (and trilogy) to everyone who liked and loved the Percy Jackson books and/or is into greek mythology!
And even if you're not one of those things: read it!It is a great paranormal (I would say) read you'll love!

QUICK REVIEW : Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Synopsis Obsidian (book 1)

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don't kill him first, that is.

Quick Review

It is a great and actionpacked alien-paranormal-maybesupernatural series by an awesome author!
The plots and actions are actionpacked and mostly fast-pasted, the characters have great charasteristic developements, and the romance isn't too much and very cute *-*

Most of the time you're shocked or awed of how something turns out in the end and because all 5 books are out already you don't have a problem with cliffhangers!

It is a great read for everyone who loves this genre and even the ones who don't.

REVIEW : Where she went by Gayle Forman

Synopsis

If you had a second chance at first love . . . would you take it?

It's been three years since Adam's love saved Mia after the accident that annihilated life as she knew it . . . and three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.

Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Julliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future - and each other.

Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, powerful prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.

Review

This was one of these books which has a plot twist near the end and then it'll all be fine. Normally I don't like that because I mostly see those twists coming and than it hasn't this surprise effect but in this book it wasn't like that.
In the middle I was already satisfied even though a little bit sad but then came the twist and I was just like : Oh my gods! That was unexpected.

I liked the way that this book is from Adam's POV and that you can see how the rockstar life is harming him but then Mia's showing up and he becomes the Adam of before again. The one who loves music.
This whole band dipute and Adam with Bryn was a little bit blahh and I didn't like the way they interacted with Adam. But I liked Aldous. He was a nice guy (:

And the newspaper article at the end of the book was so great.
Over all I think Gayle Forman did a great job with both bookd and I don't know in particuilar which book of this duology I like best :D (If I stay review here)

Chocolate Book Tag

I was tagged by Anna @ Enchanted by YA to do the Chocolate book tag and so here I am doing it (:

Well, I tag :  Amelia @ YA Bookologists
Summer @ Miss Fictional

Dark Chocolate - A book that cover a dark topic (domestic violence, abuse, rape, loneliness, death, etc.)

If I stay by Gayle Forman (review here)

I know, I know.
This isn't "dark".But since I don't read dark books, I must say that's the darkest book I read so far..
And it aswell has to do with death and that's why I chose it.

White Chocolate - Your favourite lighthearted/humorous book

Since you've been gone by Morgan Matson (review here)

It is both mentioned above: lighthearted and humorous.
I laughed in this book many times and
I just flew through it!
A recommendation for everyone who loves lighthearted contamporary
with a bit of humor.

Milk Chocolate - A book that's gotten a lot of hype and you're dying to read

The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

The hype is soo big around this book and generally about this series, especially after the second book was released just a few days ago I think.
I am kind of ashamed that I haven't read it yet since it seems that everyone loves it but I just put it of for when I'm in the mood for reading about aliens and stuff like this. But it is on my Birthday/Christmas wishlist !

Chocolate with Caramel Center - A book that made you feel all gooey inside while reading it

Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi

Maybe an unusual pick for this but because all those
Warnette feels in this book I just was gooey.
Well... maybe that's the reason why I've read this book about
three times this year already and probably will a fourth :D

Wafer-Free KitKat - A book that surprised you lately

Take back the Skies by Lucy Saxon (review here)

It hadn't surprised surprised me but I definitely hadn't thought I'll enjoy it
that much I haveand especially not that I'd be so emotionally attacked by it.
So yeahh.. it was a surprise.

Snickers - A book you're going nuts about

Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

Should I really explain this ?
HELLOOO??? It's the next Cassie book in her fantastic shadowhunter world!
And it's coming out NEXT year !!! oooo:
Soooooooo exicted for it *ooo*
And I can't wait to see the actual cover for it ! *---*
Hell! You can see right now I'm going 100% nuts about it! :D

Hot Chocolate with Cream and Marshmallows - A book you would turn to for comfort

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare

Another Cassie book, and an awesome one!
Even though it has freaking 730 pages I would read it always when I'm not feeling comfortable. It just makes me laugh, sad and to a fangirl at level 10. :D

Box of Chocolates -  A series you've read that has a wide variety and a little something for everyone

Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas (review here)

It just has action, a little bit of romance, a kick-ass female protagonist and an amazing fantasy world.
So what do you want more?
It's definitely one of my favourites ever and I recommend it to nearly everyone who asks me what they should read (:
So : GO AND READ IT if you haven't already ! :D

That's all (:
Hope you like it and feel free to do it, even if I haven't tagged you *-*

Ten Book Challenge

I was tagged to do this book challenge by Anna @ Enchanted by YA.
Thank you sooo much for tagging :*

Rules
List 10 books that have stayed with you in some way. Do not take more than a few minutes, and do not think about it too hard. They do not have to be the "right books", or great works of literature, just ones that have affected you in some way. Paste these instructions and tag 10 friends, including me, so I can see your list!

The Mortal Instrument by Cassandra Clare
I love this series just so much and it's one of my favourties right now and will always be. The characters are awesome, the plots are amazing and even though the fourth book in my opinion wasn't that great because of too less plot twists every book is just OMG.

Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini
This was my first mythologic read and I loved it! The concept of this book is fantastic and it's one of these series where the love triangle isn't such a big deal.

Shadow Falls Camp by C. C. Hunter
An awesome paranormal maybe supernatural series with amazing characters. And aswell one of those series which are set in an unhyped place, here a summer camp.

The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare
Need I to explain? First : It's a Cassandra Clare series. Second : It has a very awesome and sarcastic male protagonist. And third : It's set in London. And well.. for all of you who don't know : London is my favourite city! :D

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
One of the few fantasy series I've read so far and that really hit me. I was facintated from the first page and the series just gets better with each book. And the friendships and relationships are just adorable.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
A children's book series which is just amazing even though I read it for the first time with 14 years. And Camp Half-Blood and tha campers :D You just have to laugh in the most unfunniest moments :D

Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi
A fantastic facinating dystopian series with such an enormous plot twist in the second and especially in the third book yout just wondering and then loving. And the loving part really hard! :D

If I stay by Gayle Forman
The first book I ever cried in and so it is right in my heart (amazing book too :D).

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout
A book with an adorable, funny realtionship and a bookblogger as the protagonist. So hell yes! This book influenced me a lot (:

Since you've been gone by Morgan Matson
My first ever really contemoraryly read with a cute romance which started as a bromance. And a setting you could think could probably happen to you aswell.

Bookhaul #3 / Summer Months and Londontrip

So. I hadn't done a bookhaul in a while since I hadn't bought that much books at once so that it would be enough for a bookhaul but now after I had been in London last Saturday I thought : I may should do one now (:

In July I got a total of 5 books (excluding my the books I bought in London (London Bookhaul))
And it's the box set of the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan with the new covers (:
I got these from my mom as a report gift.

Don't they look beautiful ? Anyway.. I already read those and the were fantastic ! (reviews: #1 , #2 , #3) Can't wait to start the Heroes of Olympus series *-*

In August I bought, this time with my own money, two books, one in Berlin and one in Hannover when I was on vacation.
If I stay by Gayle Forman I already read and reviewed (review here) but Unwind by Neil Shusterman I haven't yet. Probably'll read it around Halloween :D

I think the movie cover of If I stay is soooo stunningly beautiful *-* Don't you think?

Then in September I bought 8 books, 7 English and 1 German (:
3 of those I bought here in Germany and these are:
- Elixir by Hillary Duff
- Trial by Fire by Josephine Angelini (On my Shelf here)
- Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas (review here)

And then I bought 5 other books in London :D
And those are:
- Where she went by Gayle Forman
- The Iron Trial by Cassandra Clare & Holly Black
- Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson
and two copies of
- Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

Well.. I think every one of you know thinks : Ehhh, Anne? Why the hell do you need to own 3 copies of Heir of Fire?
Here's my answer: The one I bought in Germany I preordered on Amazon. Then in London I went to Waterstones and there I saw Heir of Fire with an exclusive Waterstones shortstory about Celeana and Nehemia (!!!) (see pic below), so I needed it :D And the third wasn't planned at all but as I went to Hatcherd's on Piccadilly I saw a sighned (!!!) copy (see pic below) of it and well, what does a bookblogger with a bookbuying problem as me do? Of course buy it ! :D
So that's why I have 3 copies.

And I'm really happy about having the matching Where she went cover to If I stay! (:
And isn't the UK cover of Steelheart amazing? For those who follow me on Instagram (@annebooks_) they already know how obsessed I am with this cover :D

Anyway, here is the proof of the exclusive shortstory and the signature (for those who didn't believe me).

The shortstory

The signature

And now at the end and overview of all books :3

Ohh gods, how much I love new books *o*

Haha :D Anyway, hope you enjoyed this bookhaul (:

What books did you buy over the summer?

REVIEW : Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

WARNING: If you haven't read this book yet, please don't read this review because of spoilers!

  Synopsis

Lost and broken, Celaena Sardothien’s only thought is to avenge the savage death of her dearest friend: as the King of Adarlan’s Assassin, she is bound to serve this tyrant, but he will pay for what he did. Any hope Celaena has of destroying the king lies in answers to be found in Wendlyn. Sacrificing his future, Chaol, the Captain of the King’s Guard, has sent Celaena there to protect her, but her darkest demons lay in that same place. If she can overcome them, she will be Adarlan’s biggest threat – and his own toughest enemy.

While Celaena learns of her true destiny, and the eyes of Erilea are on Wendlyn, a brutal and beastly force is preparing to take to the skies. Will Celaena find the strength not only to win her own battles, but to fight a war that could pit her loyalties to her own people against those she has grown to love?

  Review

I started this series in August and loved the first two books and since that I had high expectations for Heir of Fire.
And guess what :D all of them were fullfilled !
This book was awesome and you can really say that this series gets better and better with each book.
I liked that the book was written from many different POVs and I think you could see that better as in the other two books.

I loved Wendlyn. It was an awesome place to settle a fictional world into.
All the new characters you get to know through the Mistward are lovely and I already loved them after a few pages.
Okay. Rowan is an explanation for himself but he's gorgeous.
This ice cold outside-warm inside charcter of him you can just love and how his relation with Celeana or better Aelin develops is just so lovely as well because they have no love interest but only great friendship.
Maeve is shit but yeahh :D When she threatened Rowan I was just like : Do that again and if you'd ever stand in front of me I punsh you!
And what Aelin did then : Holy Gods! (but that's too muvh spoiler)

Okay. Not just the Mistward people were awesome, Aedion, Ren, Sorscha and all the others too.
And the development Aelin makes throughout the book is gorgeous!
She finally acepts her role as Queen of Terrasen and want to fight for it! (:
And her Fae powers have got a WOW effect at the end of the book.

At the beginning it really upset and confused me when there were those scenes from the POV of Manon Blackbeak, an Iron Teath Witch. But when there was more plot in it and the witches went to this mountain where the wyvern where, from that point I enjoyed reading about them.

I really dont want to write about the last 30 pages because of grand spoilers but it really breaks my heart that Aelin doesn't knows what going on in Rifthold.

And it rips my heart OUT that I have to wait a full year for the fourth book because the end was kind of a big cliffhanger ! -.-
I really don't understand why authors do that to us ...

Bookish TMI Tag !

So I recently saw a video on YouTube from about the Booktuber TMI Tag and thought the questions were really cool, but despite I'm not a Youtuber, I just name th Tag instead Bookish TMI Tag.

News about me #1

Hey guys !
Today I felt like doing a post a bit personal and so I decided I just inform you what's going on right now (:
Hope you like post like this (and if not, damn you ! no. just fun :D they won't be often).

Well. As you probably know by now, school started for me about 3 weeks ago and because of that in about one and a half weeks exams will start -.- I know, I'm not glad about it either but what could I do?
So I hope you'll understand that I won't be able to post that reculary thanks to studying.. and aswell since I couldn't figure out yet, how to schedule my post ._. So if you know how to, please tell me in a comment !

I'm going to on a one-day trip to London Saturday (September, 20) and therefor you can look forward to a book haul, which will probably include any other book I purchased/received from the beginning of July (excluding my London Book Haul). But for you to know, it isn't that much (:

And I'll be from October 3 to 15 on vacation and won't be able to post anything (not if I know how to schedule post by then). So please be patient ! :D

Today I got from my mom a pair of Nike Airmax (:
I wanted some for a while now and today was the day.
What do you think about Airmax or generally Nike?

Aswell I'm now saving money because i want an Apple MacBook so hard ! As a result of that I won't be able to buy so many books the next year .. -.- I know: shame on me as a book blogger but my computer is such shit (sry for that) and I wanted a MacBook for really long now.
But before you ask : I'll require books for my birthday (which is November 26 btw) so that I have books to read :D

Oh ! And I have Skype now! If you want to chat (not videochat) with me, you can find me under the username : anne.books .
I'd really like to chat with you about books and stuff :D

So I think that was all for now and I hope you aren't bored :3
Because my review of Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas will be up soon!

DISCUSSION : Books of TV Shows?

Hey guys !

Today I've got a little dicussion about TV shows and about the books most of them are based on.
And aswell I googled and haven't found any website with a topic like this and so I just thought: Why not do it when it interests you? And so here I am.

Let's take me as an example:
I'm watching Pretty Little Liars (PLL) and I really love it!
(That isn't the only show I'm watching but it's for me the best to discuss about :D)

I know that this series is based on books (by Sara Shepard) but I won't read them ever. Reading a book before the movie adaption comes out? Fine! I mostly do that. But before watching the show? I don't know..

First of all there are mostly about 8+ books out, which is pretty much to read before beginning to watch, but there is the probelm of knowing the ending too.
Let's take PLL: The question of the series/show is who "A" is. But what if you already read the books and you know who it is? Would you bother watching the TV show anyway?
Me definitly not, because where's the fun if you already know the answer to the question?

I think that's with most TV shows since probably about 80% of them are based on books..
Even so I think the majority of the people just watch the shows on TV than reading the books and to be honest, and even though I'm a book lover and reader, I prefer watching shows on TV rather than reading the books.
I don't mean series like The Mortal Instruments or Percy Jackson because they are great but I mean series like Pretty Little Liars, The Vampire Diaries or Gossip Girl!

And thirdly there is the problem that in the books the charaters are different as they are in the TV show and that, I think, is for someone who reads the books and watches the TV show really confusing.
For example my friend, who aswell watches PLL, recently bought a book of the series and started reading it but it was totally different from the show. Hanna has on the one hand in the books short, red hair (I think that's right) but on the other hand in the TV show long (afterwards short), blonde hair. Another example is that Aria is in the books together with Sean (and Ezra doen't exist (to the point my friend read)) but in the TV show it's Hanna (and Ezra exists!).
And I would say these can be really annoying things ..

So what's you opinion?
And what TV shows do you watch?
If you watch some, did you just watch them or read the books too, and why?

Would love to read about your opinions!

xo Anne
